The BOT & ExO jointly conducted emergency meeting yesterday, May 25, 2008 at Chicken King. The following were discussed: (1) Guidelines for price rate implementation; (2) ICT Month celebration; (3) and other matters.
The body agreed to enforce the price rate effective June 1, 2008. The minimum floor price rate in Iligan City is P15.00 per hour. Further, the body agreed that no internet cafe will be allowed to charge below P15.00. Discounts and promotional rates is not allowed, unless the owner secures a DTI permit. All internet cafe in Iligan are required to post the price tag sticker(P15) in their respective cafe. The price tag sticker can be avail at IICOA and look for Ding Hadjiazis at Tel. No. 225-4908.
Meanwhile, the body also discussed the different activities in the preparation for the ICT Month celebration on June 1-30, 2008. The following activities to be undertaken by IICOA:
1. Dota All Stars Tournament
Elimination: June 8, 2008
Venue: XD.net Cafe (New Branch)

Other matters:
1. Power surge and brown-out and System Loss - The body agreed to invite ILPI during the Icafe Congress, to answer and shed light regarding power failures/black-outs experienced by Icafe operators last week causing damages to their computers, especially power supply, mother board and the system due to abrupt increasing of voltage.
The body also agreed to prepare positon paper requesting our lawmakers thru Rep. Varf Belmonte, to amend some provisions of Republic Act 9136(the EPIRA Law) that allows private utilities like ILPI, to recover system loss up to 10%. Mr. Maminta arguably commented "that this is not advantagious to the public comsumers like the internet cafe operators."
2.IICOA identification Card
The president announced that IICOA member's Identification Card will be soon available and just contact Mr. Jalin Macapunmdag at Nicafe Internet Cafe.
3. Hanging of Streamer
Mr. Maminta requesting all Icafe in Iligan to hang streamer in their respective cafe as support to ICT observation and celebration. The size of streamer is 1 Meter and text or message maybe like this:

Further, Mr. Maminta announced that there will be no more meeting on May 31,2008 as scheduled.
